Metrohm AG Switzerland, the world’s leader in the field of ion analysis, has thrown its full weight behind the BBBEE initiatives of the South African government. They have entered into a joint venture with local partners, resulting in the formation of Metrohm SA, a 51% BEE Company.

Metrohm SA will be your 1-stop shop for ion analysis solutions, whether it is simple pH measurement, titration, Karl Fischer water analysis, ion chromatography or trace analysis by voltammetry. Metrohm SA will also represent Eco-Chemie, a subsidiary of Metrohm AG that is involved in the production of high precision galvanostats and potentiostats.

Ravi Issari has been appointed Managing Director of Metrohm SA (MSA). “The benefits of Metrohm investing in South Africa are immense,” said Issari, “Having direct access to the technology, inventory, and human capital of the Swiss parent allows MSA to provide its clients with unsurpassed service and after sales support”.

The company has modern, centrally located offices in Woodmead (Sandton), which includes a 20-seater training room, and 3 Application Laboratories for Titration, Ion Chromatography and Process Systems. Customers will be able to attend tailor-made training courses and perform practical work in the afore-mentioned labs. Regional offices are located in Westville (KZN) and in Cape Town.

Instruments in the Metrohm SA range are required in diverse markets, thus allowing MSA to tap into the huge potential that exists in SA’s growing economy. The Metrohm sales team consists of qualified Analytical Chemists, ably supported by Electrical Engineers. MSA will provide vacation jobs for disadvantaged students with the hope of offering these students full-time employment upon completion of their studies.
